Jessica - Intro and Reaction to Anne thus far

Hi everyone, so sorry about the delayed introduction, but here it is. I am Wes' youngest sister, Jessica. I got my AS degree from Weber State University and just got accepted into the Special Ed and Rehabilitation program at Utah State University, Orem campus. Also, I just got a job as a Special Ed assistant, which I'm really excited about. My husband and I live in BYU on-campus housing in Provo. He's majoring in Genetics and Biotechnology and should be done with his undergrad December 2010 (Yay!), after which we hope to get into the U of U's MDPhD program. You could say we're in for the long haul - only 7-9 years out! Bret and I have now been married for just over 10 months. :) It's really crazy how much time has gone by! So, that's all about me.

For those of you who know me, I'm not much of a reader. Something about getting distracted by everything and thinking of all the other things I should be doing right then keeps me from getting through many books. But I'm getting through this one fairly quickly. At first, Anne was a little annoying in all her chatter and I had to read a bit to decide whether or not I liked her character and reading all the useless jibberish. But I found that she has just enough likeableness to compensate for all the chatter and started to enjoy it.
The part that really won me over initially is the description of the lake of shining waters. I really enjoy L. M. Montgomery's word choices and imagery throughout the book.
One other thing though- I'm starting to get bothered with the way Anne's acting toward Gilbert. It's a stupid grudge and she should get over it, especially since he's clearly tried to rectify his mistake. It's obvious what is going to happen, but I wish she'd be done with it already.
I look forward to hearing your feedback/comments on the book, even though, seemingly, I'm the only one who's never read it before.

I asked a question in my post today for you Jessica. I was wondering if you had seen the movie ever or if this is your first experience with Anne.
