I Cannot read this book. This is now the second time it has been the book of the month in a book club I was in. The first time I started it, could not get into it, tried again, got annoyed by it, and quit reading. It has come highly recommended by people I trust and people that generally stear me to books I like. So, I tried again this month...still didn't take.
I have to rational or reasonable reason why I could not read this book, but I couldn't stand it and trudged through about 30 pages in about 20 attempts to read it before I had to decide that tis is just not a book for me. I am sorry , but I for some reason just can't take this book...
So, on to the next one (it is April after all)...YEAH, I get to re-read a favorite this month...Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card!!

Don't feel bad. I personally don't know anyone who likes The Golden Compass. I really enjoyed it, but the end kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
