Okay, I, like Angel, am only about 75 pages into this book and am already very moved by it. The things I have read so far are both horrifying and educating. I am definately pro-life, but I have also always believed that it's not really up to me to decide what someone else does with their own body and their own baby. I was going to quote from the book, but I am without the book currently-I'll come back later with the exact quote, but around page 23, Larch says something to the effect of: There are many unwanted babies that are born that don't get taken care of. There are also many wanted babies that get taken from this life too early. We can't ever change that. But, he feels he can help those that might have unwanted babies. . . . even though I do not agree with abortion, I did appreciate the fact that Larch would rather do an abortion for a woman than have them go "Off-Harrison" for it. I was completely disgusted and horrified by the methods used "Off-Harrison". I can truly imagine the pain they would cause and the complications-and that just scares me. This book does a really good job of making abortion more of a gray area instead of black and white-it's okay if you don't agree with that. I think this book is very thought provoking and might make some of us think twice about things we've thought our whole lives.
As a personal side note, that totally freaked me out when Mrs. Eames had a hole in her uterus. ;)

PS Beckee, I'm really glad you started this book club-it's been nice to read books I might not have otherwise.
