1) Orson Scott Card has written about how he often receives letters from gifted children who identify with or emphasize personally with Ender. Would you rather be like Ender yourself and, if so, which characteristics do most identify with or wish you possess? Or, would you be content believing that there might be people like Ender in the world and, if so, why?
2) The military seems conflicted in the treatment of their soldiers. On the one hand, their express purpose for using children as soldiers is to exploit their innocent aggressiveness. On the other hand, they don't completely trust this trait in their soldiers and feel the need to concoct the elaborate lie of the game to hide their true intentions. With this in mind, do you believe that adults would be able to fight the third Formic War with the same naivety? Do you believe the children would have been able to fight as effectively as they did with a more complete knowledge of their true purpose in the War?
